Madison Gordon has accepted an academic and athletic scholarship to the University of Minnesota-Duluth.  Madison is a 5’7″ setter that is a member of our Wisconsin Juniors 17-1’s team.  She is a Junior at West Allis Central High School in West Allis, Wisconsin.  Madison first played for Wisconsin Juniors when she was on the WJV 14-1’s team in 2014.

When asked what separated Minnesota-Duluth from other schools, Madison replied, “Duluth stood out to me in many different ways!  The atmosphere of the campus, the city and the team were all a perfect match.  When my Mom and I first arrived in Duluth, the city was beautiful, it is hilly and right on Lake Superior.  Then, we got onto campus, it felt like a little community.  It is a smaller campus connected with tunnels!  So, no snow for me in the winter!  Finally, the team was super welcoming!  I got to meet all the Freshman who will be up there when I arrive.”Madison chose Duluth over

Madison chose Duluth over other program because “Duluth is a D2, even though they are D2, I am still able to play volleyball.  The “D2” label doesn’t bother me because they are nationally ranked D2, so I can play in a National Championship!”

She was asked “In a quote, in her own words, to describe the emotions of her commitment to Duluth.”  She said, “When I got up to Duluth it felt like home.  When I toured the campus, all three coaches were with me and the girls came up to me and introduced themselves.  “Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog.”

Who was one person you want to mention and thank in this article? “I would really like to thank my Mom.  She’s been by my side through every practice and every early weekend in the gym!

”Congratulations to Madison Gordon on her commitment to a Top 10 Division Two program.  As a quote mentioned by Madison, “Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog.”  The mascot for West Allis Central High School is a Bulldog, so she will now be a “Bulldog” for another four years!  Keep up the great work Madison!
